Description

what greatness will grow from here?
By 1957, Ted Geisel (aka Dr. Seuss) had been tilling the soil of his artistic vision for nearly two decades.  A healthy rise to prominence was taking hold, having already published 13 books and introducing the world to such perennial characters as Horton (the star of two books by 1957) and Thidwick The Big Hearted Moose

Ted’s artistic soil was fertile by the time he began conceiving The Cat in the Hat. His hope was to change the way children learned to read.  What he never imagined was that by nurturing the seed he had planted, The Cat would grow into a world-wide brand and become one of the most iconic characters of all time. Much like the flower growing from the top of the Cat’s head in this recently discovered artwork, Ted’s unlikely rise to fame is an important reminder that good ideas, when planted in fertile soil and nurtured over time, can have a dramatic impact on the trajectory of our lives.
