Leyla Halil was born in Turkey to artist parents and has always been encouraged to pursue her passion for art. At a very young age, her family relocated to the United States where she would grow up to attend the Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta, GA.
Halil has always been drawn to nature and the outdoors. The natural colors of the world are what inspire her most in her art. “I love the way no sunset is ever the same, or the way the wind always moves the trees in a new way.” Halil loves working mostly with watercolors because it is a way for the painting to be in control of itself; letting the paint take its natural course.
