Gallery Veronique welcomes Maya Eventov, world-renowned palette-knife painter, at the artist reception on Friday, October 8, 2021 from 5 - 8 p.m. and Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Exposed to the rich art and culture in Leningrad, St. Petersburg at an early age, Maya Eventov has studied art since she was six years old. She holds a master’s degree in graphic design and formerly worked as an illustrator for children’s books. Today, her work is represented in galleries around the world including in Canada, Great Britain, and the USA.
Maya’s work is abstract, figurative, and nature inspired. Her technique is characterized by application of acrylic paint using a variety of palette knives. In her own words, “My works speak of my feelings of happiness, I love to paint, it feels great and I hope my art is a way to transfer this positive energy and wonderful feeling to others. I want to share the warmth of the afternoon, the smell of the exotic flowers and the sensuous taste of the ripe fruit with the viewer. Wander with me through the roads of Tuscany or come enjoy a quiet moment in a romantic setting somewhere in Spain.”
As one critic explained, “Her work evokes both an excursion to a distant
Canadian forest on a crisp autumn afternoon and the afterimage produced from staring at a Faberge egg.”
This will be a rare opportunity for collectors to meet the artist and discuss her technique and inspiration.
Refreshments will be served.
