Gallery Botanicals:
Always starting with a commercial, printed fabric, these pieces begin by being layered with fiber-reactive dyes. Botanical and other objects are then sun-printed using mica-laden acrylics. Additional images are added to the composition with appliqués of layered sheers and by thread sketching through layers of fabric and batting (like drawing the outlines in watercolor technique) to be filled in after.
